Dispatcher Detail Assignment

Due to Dispatcher Shortage at Denali Communications Center, Denali is seeking Park Dispatchers from other NPS Communication Center to work a 4 to 6 week detail at the Denali Communications Center. The need for Dispatchers is so critical that Denali will cover pay, travel and per diem costs.

Many Park Communication Centers across the United States are starting to show a loss of qualified dispatchers who leave for higher paying agencies and positions.

This is also a great example of why standardized training for all NPS Dispatchers should be instituted, so that any dispatcher can work a detail at another Dispatch center with a seamless transition. The FOP Ranger lodge has been advocating standardized mandatory training for all agency dispatchers.
