Our History

We assisted in the fight for inclusion of park rangers under the federal law enforcement and firefighters system (6c). Even though this battle was won we still face hostilities from both the National Park Service and the Office of Personnel Management.

We have fought and won basic benefits for rangers including free Hepatitis B vaccinations; body armor, semiautomatic weapons and other equipment critical to the safe performance of our duties.

We keep members informed on their rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act and other federal legislation. The lodge is working on the NPS Medical Standards program to ensure they are appropriate and fairly enforced.
